2004.11.22 - November Reminders
Here are a few reminders:
BATTERY PROTECTION SYSTM TESTING
ASC inspectors have been working to develop a procedure for testing battery protection systems during NASC2005 Scrutineering. A draft version of instructions for the test procedure is available online at http//www.americansolarchallenge.org/event/asc2005/tech/bps.html.
Please read the document carefully and post your questions, comments, and concerns to the Solar Raycing listserv. We would also appreciate comments from solar car alumni with battery experience. We will be following the listserv discussion and that information will help to make the final version of the document.
While we encourage teams to post their comments to the listserv, you may send your comments to teaminfo@americansolarchallenge.org.
Comments will be accepted through November 30, 2004.
STOCK CLASS SOLAR CELLS
Solar cells approved for the NASC2005 Stock Class are listed at http//www.americansolarchallenge.org/event/asc2005/tech/stocksolarcell.html. Additional cells will be added as they are approved by Headquarters. If you would like to use a type of cell that is not listed, please submit a solar cell approval form to HQ. Submissions of new cells for approval will be accepted through December 1, 2004.
NASC2005 CALENDARS
Due to popular demand, solar raycing calendars for NASC2005 are now available for purchase. The calendars are similar to the 2004-2005 NASC calendars mailed to teams (but these are only for 2005). Information is available online at http//www.americansolarchallenge.org/event/asc2005/calendar.html.
2004.11.02 - Draft BPS Testing Procedure

While we encourage teams to post their comments to the listserv, you may send your comments to teaminfo@americansolarchallenge.org.
Comments will be accepted through November 30, 2004.
2004.08.03 - Reminders
Here are a few quick reminders:
RCSS REPORT - Due September 1, 2004.
Thank you to the teams that have already submitted their reports!
If you have not sent in your report, please review the online instructions (http//www.americansolarchallenge.org/event/asc2005/tech/rcss.html). It benefits you to get feedback from the inspectors as early as possible.
If the inspectors do have concerns with the roll cage, we hope that you will take the opportunity to address their concerns early. It isn't easy to fix a roll cage after it has been built.
BATTERY APPROVAL FORM - Due March 15, 2005.
The form is online at http//www.americansolarchallenge.org/event/asc2005/tech/batteryform.html.
Again, please try to turn this in as early as possible. If the inspectors have a problem with your battery pack, it is better to figure that out before you purchase the pack. If you are considering a couple of different options, send them both in.
You do not need to have all of the supporting documents for the inspectors to give you preliminary feedback on the pack, but you should send them in as soon as possible.
SOLAR CELL INFO FORM - Due April 1, 2005
The form is online at http//www.americansolarchallenge.org/event/asc2005/tech/solarcellinfo.html.
Note If you are planning to enter the Stock Class, the deadline for adding new cells to the Stock Class Approved list is December 1, 2004.
