2005 North American Solar Challenge
Weatherford, Texas

The 2005 North American Solar Challenge will have a stage stop in Weatherford, Texas. This will be the first stage stop of the event. Teams will leave Austin on the morning of July 17 and will arrive in Weatherford throughout the afternoon. On July 18, teams will depart from Weatherford as they start the second stage.

The public is welcome to view the cars and talk to the teams.

Stage Location

Weatherford College is hosting the stage stop in the Main South Parking Lot on College Park Drive.

The solar cars will be in Weatherford on July 17-18. The exact arrival time of the first car will vary depending on the weather. During the rayce, updates on team locations will be available on the Recent Sightings page.

July 18 - Mon.	TBD	Stage 2 Start Ceremonies.
July 18 - Mon.	9:00 a.m.	Stage 2 Start.
July 18 - Mon.	9:45 a.m.	Stage 2 start activities conclude.
Note: As the rayce route is finalized, these times may be slightly adjusted.

Estimated Open Time - It is unlikely that the first solar car will arrive before this time. The actual arrival time will likely be a bit later and will depend on traffic and weather.

Close of Stage 1 Timing - Solar cars must arrive by this time to avoid penalities. The exact time is determined by each team's individual start time in Austin.

Battery Impound - Solar cars will be on display in a charging area in the Main South Parking Lot on Sunday until battery impound time.

Release from Impound - Solar cars will be on display in a charging area in the Main South Parking Lot on Monday after the batteries are released from impound.

Stage 2 Start - Solar cars will be released in one minute intervals.
