For over-current protection with li-ion batteries, is a standard DC fast blow fuse sufficient? also, the regulations don't go into much detail, but the BPS testing precedure document implies that a relay will be used for the BPS. is MOSFET switching acceptable for the battery protection system?

Fast blow fuses are not acceptable for BPS overcurrent protection as their performance is too variable. MOSFETs are not acceptable for BPS shutoff as they can fail shorted.
