Does the entire system used to transfer energy between the solar array and solar car need to be carried by the solar car, or is it only the electrical connectors that need to be carried? For instance, do wire, inductive systems, or even power-carrying shafts (as from a wind generator) also need to be carried by the solar car?

Any aspect of the system which is required for the operation of the system as intended must be carried by the car. Stands which optimize the performance, but are not critical to function, may be carried separately.
