2021 American Solar Challenge

The 2021 competition includes both the American Solar Challenge (ASC) road event and the Formula Sun Grand Prix (FSGP) track event/qualifier. Partnering with the National Park Service, the 2021 route will commemorate the bicentennial of the Santa Fe Trail from Independence, MO to Las Vegas, NM, including a final loop out to Santa Fe, NM and back to Las Vegas, NM for the finish line. All teams participating in this cross-country event must pass Scrutineering tech inspections and successfully qualify their vehicles and drivers during the FSGP track race. This competition features entrants in both the Single-Occupant Vehicle (SOV) Class and the Multi-Occupant Vehicle (MOV) Class. The primary objective for all teams is to successfully complete the base route of the event without trailering their solar cars. You can learn more about the other objectives of each class here.
